The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. It also administers the Government's development education work.

Networks

• The Coalition of Aid and Development Agencies (CADA) is a catalyst network in Northern Ireland with the aim of supporting international development, promoting development education, and influencing policy at local, national and international levels.
  
  
• IDEA is an association of organisations and individuals involved in the provision,
  promotion or advancement of development education throughout the island of Ireland.
  
  
• Dochas is the umbrella organisation of Irish Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) involved in development and relief overseas and/or in the provision of development education.
