From 2014 to 2018 the Centre for Global Education managed the Global Learning Programme which supported schools to embed development education and global citizenship as regular practice across curriculum subjects and through a whole school approach. This training programme contributed to more young people having a thorough knowledge and understanding of global poverty and the ways it can be reduced. From 2018 to 2021, the Centre will manage the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme in Northern Ireland which will enable schools to deepen their global learning practice through inservice CPD training and grants for international school partnerships. This programme is joint funded by the British Council and the Department for International Development.
