Personal data we may collect about you

We will obtain personal data about you (such as your name and contact details) whenever you complete an online form.

For example, we will obtain your personal data when you register to use this website, send us feedback, post material, contact us for any reason, sign up to or otherwise use any services available on our website. We may also obtain sensitive personal data about you if you volunteer it during the completion of an online form. If you volunteer such information, you will be consenting to our processing it for the purpose of the use of this website.

We may monitor and record communications with you (such as telephone conversations and emails) for the purpose of quality assurance, fraud prevention and compliance.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to personal data that we may process about you. If you wish to exercise this right, you should:

  • include proof of your identity and address (eg a copy of your driving licence or passport, and a recent utility or credit card bill); and
  • specify the personal data you want access to, including any account or reference numbers where applicable.

You have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your data free of charge. If you wish to exercise this right, you should:

  • provide us with enough information to identify you (eg account number, username, registration details); and
  • specify the information that is incorrect and what it should be replaced with.

You also have the right to ask us to stop processing your personal data for direct communication purposes. If you wish to exercise this right, you should:

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning (CCGL) 2018 - 2021

The Centre for Global Education is the National Lead Organisation and CPD provider in Northern Ireland for Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning. This programme is funded by the British Council and the Department for International Development and runs from 2018-2021.

CCGL Privacy Statement

The Centre for Global Education is the delivery partner for the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning Programme (CCGL) in Northern Ireland.

We will use any information you provide us with, for example on registration forms, to assist us in administering the programme, this includes identifying schools to work with in a cluster, provision of continuous professional development, communication and support throughout your involvement with CCGL.

The Centre for Global Education will share your personal information with the British Council in line with the Terms and Conditions of our contract as delivery partner (details available upon request). The British Council will share your information with Ecorys, a third party research consultancy commissioned by the British Council to monitor and evaluate the impact of Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning (CCGL) training on teaching practice and pupil outcomes. These reports are also shared with the Department for International Development (DFID), joint funder of the Connecting Classrooms programme. The legal basis for collecting your personal information is in agreement with the Terms and Conditions of our contract. You will be requested to complete surveys which are used to monitor and evaluate the quality of training and its impact on teaching practice. The Centre for Global Education and the British Council will do this in their legitimate interest.

Registering for CCGL

Registration for CCGL is done through SurveyMonkey, an external survey website based in the USA, Brazil and Europe, which takes a wide range of measures to ensure user safety and security. Please see SurveyMonkey's Security Statement and Privacy Policy for full details. On the registration form, we will ask you to provide us with your school’s contact details. We will also ask you to name and provide details of the teachers who will be involved in implementing the programme in your school. You must make sure you have their express permission beforehand.
